Do we have free will?

Do we have the strength of will to exercise it?

An excellent session.

Thank you Les.

Still baffled by the omnipresent omniscient omni-everything God who sets the world up and is responsible for everything yet needs to be pleaded/ prayed to to help us. .

still both you and Denis seemed to appreciate the problem and that's as near as I want to get into understanding.

I came out at the end even more determined to excercise my 'free' will and shall be as bolshi as ever as I seek to assert myself without causing too much upset!

Made me even more determined to take some difficult decisions and get on with life and be as proactive as possible (5% of the time)!

Thoroughly enjoyed myself.

I personally don't believe in it for a moment. Anything even vaguely resembling such asupreme being would have no individul interest in us and would be so far beyond our comprehension as to be quite irrelevant.
Petty tribal deities need worship but are hardly worthy of respect. Supreme transcendent creators, if they exist, do not need worship, or anything else.

Something I hoped we might have discussed but didn't: I don't think it makes any difference whether we have free will or not. If we have, we will continue to exercise it. If we haven't then our behaviour and beliefs are already determined and we will continue to act as we woul have done.

You cannot identify free will by observing behaviour.
